Internet Radio
5 July 2009 at 5:33 PM | In Internet Radio | Leave a CommentI can’t stand listening to the same songs over and over, and I don’t really have enough space on my computer or ipod to store all the songs I would like, so recently I’ve taken to listening to internet radios while doing my work.
This has several advantages over conventional radio:
1) They talk less. If you’re the kind who hates it when the DJs go on and on about entertainment news that you could care less about, then you’ll love the channels that don’t even have DJs, and just play music throughout. In that sense it’s more like a playlist than a radio channel, but it gives you a lot more variety.
2) There are channels dedicated to almost anything, really. And you can find both specialised channels and more ‘random’ channels depending on what you like.
3) It’s really easy to use. All you have to do is download the playlist and use it to stream the songs. I think some sites work with Windows Media Player (although mine couldn’t recognise the extension on the file) while others need Winamp or similar programs. I just use Media Player Classic <3 It opens all sort of extensions~
Anyway, I’ve mostly been listening to AnimeNfo Radio because it’s one of the better channels I can find. They play mostly anime music, but sometimes there’s some J-Pop too I think. And I’m pretty sure I heard some game music (Touhou) there as well. And best of all, it doesn’t require you to refresh every 10 minutes or so <3 Nice mix of music too~
